The Up direction combined Outer Home and Distant signal for Paarl, on the main line from Johannesburg to Cape Town. The Outer Home signal is seen in the 'off' position, with the Distant arm underneath at 'caution'.

This signal is located at the south end of the Loop at Paarl station. The lower arm is a route signal that controls movements onto the single-line Franschhoek branch.
