Shunting Signals

New Cumnock
A two-tier disc shunting signal at New Cumnock. The top disc, when cleared, authorises a shunting move along the furthest left of two possible routes ahead. The signal is elevated for improved sighting. (Photo taken 27 April 2006)

Laurencekirk
A group of three disc shunting signals beside the Down Refuge Siding at Laurencekirk. Instead of being stacked one above the other as is more usual, these signals are placed side by side. (Photo taken 23 April 2015)

Greenloaning
A yellow disc shunting signal at Greenloaning. The disc's white background is the original standard for this type of signal. (Photo taken 19 November 1994)

Stirling North
A yellow disc shunting signal at Stirling North. The disc's black background is the later standard for this type of signal. The signal may be passed while in the 'on' position, for a move into the headshunt. (Photo taken 26 June 1993)
